Doulas: A Documentary

Must-see for birth professionals and expectant families
Doulas: A Documentary is such a phenomenal film! It does a fantastic job explaining exactly what a doula does and doesn't do; how she supports the birthing mother and her partner; how she works well with the medical team; and, demonstrates the wonderful tools she has to make birth a smoother process for all involved. A must-see for those that are curious if a doula is right for them in their birth, as well as for those that are trying to decide if they want to be a doula themselves. Gorgeous montage of births at the end! Very powerful and moving!

Amazing!
This film is a well-balanced, accurate portrayal of the work of a doula. It is the perfect answer to the question, "What is a doula?" Through interviews with families, providers, nurses, and doulas themselves, filmmaker Emily Rumsey, has captured the essence of doulas and why they are instrumental in birth. The birth photography and live footage enhances the beauty and further brings home the point of why every woman deserves a doula.

Great for doulas in training
Next time someone asks me what exactly a doula is, I'll refer them to this film! Great stuff with familiar faces :)
