cirque soleil meets rocky horror picture show?
While there were a few circus-worthy acts in the mix, the overall feel and look was less professional than expected. The effort was half-baked in that if they really wanted to present a dark carnival there should have been less comedy and fewer attempts at modern dance with much more emphasis on the berzerk and bizzare. in 2013, this was neither. It was probably a great idea in the head that fell flat when finally executed.
Dark, interesting, visually impressive, but...
Not sure if this was just a bad recording, but the vocals really threw this for me. Visually stunning and I enjoyed the underworld cabaret angle quite a bit, but every time a vocalist did their thing it undermined everything else going on.
Fantastic Fantasy!
A dark remake of cabaret and circus with a touch of freak show, that kept me interested and watching. Bezerk made me want to run away with a circus again, after all these decades.
